Leadership

Pastor Byron has been serving the people of FBC Clyde since 2007. He began his pastoral ministry as the student pastor. Pastor Byron spent the first 14 years of his career as a bi-vocational pastor but transitioned to the role of Lead Pastor in 2021. Being a former public educator, Pastor Byron holds a Bachelor's Degree in education from Western Carolina University (2009), a Master's Degree in school administration from Western Carolina University (2015), and a Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington (2022). He has also completed additional studies at Fruitland Baptist Bible College in Hendersonville, North Carolina and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.
Pastor Byron is passionate about proclaiming the word of God and watching the working of the Holy Spirit in the lives of the people. He is passionate about the local church because he knows that the church is favored by God and has the power to change the world.
Pastor Byron married his wife Lindsey in 2012. They have 2 children, Landon and Emmerson. Pastor Byron loves to preach the word of God, all things sports related, golf, playing guitar, singing praises to the king, and traveling the world with his family. 

Pastor Rickey has served as our Worship Pastor since 2021. Pastor Rickey has served as Worship Pastor at several churches over his 30+ year career in pastoral ministry. Pastor Rickey served here at FBC Clyde the first time from 1983-1992 before moving to serve as the Worship Pastor at First Baptist Church in Bushnell, Florida. In retirement, Pastor Rickey serves here at FBC Clyde on a part-time basis. He has a world class voice, plays many instruments, and loves to sing. Pastor Rickey is passionate about the people of God singing together their praises to the King. He is famous for saying "Every Voice" because he understands that we should all lift our voices in praise for God.
Pastor Rickey is married to his wife Joan. They have 2 adult children, Tod and Carrie, and they have 2 grandchildren, Travis and Amos. 

Brenna has served as ministry assistant at First Baptist Church since 2024. Brenna is a retired teacher with Haywood County Schools. She holds a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from North Carolina State University. Brenna also serves as our church pianist and is part of our worship team.
Brenna is married to her husband Matthew and they have 4 children, Tanner, Trent, Macey, and Micah.
Brenna is an avid NC State Wolfpack fan.
