First Baptist Church of Clyde was founded in 1864. We were a church plant from the congregation of First Baptist Church of Canton, North Carolina. The desire was to reach all of Haywood County with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and that is still our desire today. There have been many pastors, members, and worshippers walk through our doors since we began back in the middle of the Civil War, but one thing remains the same... our love for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Come join us and become part of our storied history as we worship God and serve his people. 

We are seeking to fulfill the great commission by going to the 4 corners of the earth, preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit and teaching all that He has commanded us. 

Our goal is to embrace our calling as the church of the Lord Jesus Christ. We are a multi-generational church with a heart for people from all walks of life. Our vision is to reach the people of Haywood County and beyond to minister to their needs and guide them toward the foot of the cross.
